HAIQIANG LYU 吕海强
Haiqiang Lyu is a renowned visual artist specializing in portrait photography that captures the essence of modern Chinese culture. His work bridges Eastern and Western aesthetics, spanning fine art, commercial campaigns, and cultural documentation with a humanistic approach.
Starting his career in Beijing in 2008, Haiqiang quickly became one of China's most influential photographers. He has photographed over 300 notable figures, including Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Ai Weiwei, Lang Lang, Yuan Longping, Yao Ming, Michael Phelps, Tony Blair, and Dominique de Villepin. His commercial clients include Intel, H&M, Adidas, BMW, Breitling, and Under Armour. In 2024, he moved to New York, expanding his creative reach.
His work has appeared in GQ, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, and Better Homes & Gardens (Chinese edition). In 2011, he published 肖像 (Portraits), a photography book documenting contemporary Chinese society.
Haiqiang has received numerous accolades, including the 2022 Top Ten Portrait Photographers Award (China) .
